Where is the automotive market Asia heading?

Discover the opportunities in the field of innovative interior concepts, energy vehicles and lightweight design. All these topics will be discussed at the ENGEL trend.scaut 2018: the ENGEL Automotive Conference that will be held in Shanghai (China) on October 24th and 25th.

We will be present at the event with our latest technologies. Among our new automotive applications on display, the thick-walled lens for LED headlamp produced in cooperation with ENGEL. Made of PMMA and with a thickness of 22 mm, the innovative lens is produced thanks to HRSflow Diamond Lux Line. 

For both partners, ENGEL together with HRSflow, the main challenge is producing thick-walled lenses combining high optical quality with highly efficient production. Initially, a preform is produced and further layers of the same material added to it in subsequent stages. Overmolding compensates for any sink marks in the surface of the previous layer and achieves high optical quality.
