Raphael Binder to succeed Stephan Berz
New management for HRSflow GmbH, Raunheim/Germany

From the turn of the year 2024/25, Raphael Binder will assume operational responsibility for the Raunheim/Germany subsidiary of international hot runner specialist Oerlikon HRSflow GmbH. In this role, he succeeds Stephan Berz, who will take on strategic tasks in the management team of Oerlikon HRSflow, San Polo di Piave/Italy.

Having worked in tool and mould making his entire professional life, Binder joined Oerlikon HRSflow in 2022. At HRSflow GmbH in Raunheim, which is responsible for business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, he initially took over the management of the customer base and the acquisition of new customers in south-west Germany and Switzerland. Since January 2024, as Sales Director Packaging, Medical & Consumer Goods in the entire DACH region, he has been responsible for the development of the Multiflow HRS product line, Oerlikon HRSflow's multi-cavity system for low shot weights, among other things.

Binder began his professional career with an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic specialising in mould making, followed by training as a master craftsman in the precision mechanics business. After working in project management and technical sales at an international toolmaking company, Binder moved to SMP Germany in 2015, a leading expert for high-quality interior and exterior modules in the automotive industry, where he was Head of Exterior Tools & Purchase Tools, managing procurement for exterior and purchased part tools in a global organisation until 2022.

Binder comments: “I see our traditional area of application in the automotive industry as one of the focal points of my work in the future. There, for example, the possibilities for the use of our cascade technology and the utilisation of cost-saving family tools are far from exhausted. In the D-A-CH region in particular, there is also a highly interesting field of development in packaging and medical technology. Multiflow HRS offers a wide range of technological and economic advances here, which I would like to open up to a growing number of users together with my team.

Berz will retire from the operational business, but will continue to contribute his many years of experience in a supportive capacity. “I wish Raphael to feel just as comfortable in his new position as I have over the past ten years. This job is extremely exciting because the field of application of our hot runner systems ranges from multi-cavity moulds for small lightweight packaging to family moulds for large automotive parts and the tasks are constantly expanding. With his in-depth knowledge of the industry and his commitment, he will be able to work with our customers to open up further new areas of application and repeatedly solve problems before they cost money.
